Dr. John Grider

Dr John Grider graduated from the Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1973. He practiced in Northport, Alabama, Monroeville, Alabama, and Ft Walton Beach, Florida before Opening The Pet Clinic in 1987.

Dr Grider is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, The Alabama Veterinary Medical Association and the South Central Alabama Veterinary Medical Association. He has served as a member of the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association’s Executive Board and as President of the South Central Alabama Veterinary Medical Association. In 2004, Governor Bob Riley appointed Dr Grider to a four year term on the Alabama Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners and reappointed him to a second term in 2008. He served as President of this board from 2007 to 2008. Although Dr Grider is cursed with an overactive sense of humor, he is deadly sereous about the health and welfare of his patients and their families.

Dr. Grider is married to Francine Weaver Grider. They have a grown son, Jason.  John and Francine live on the outskirts of Peterman, Alabama, with two spoiled cats and a mixed up Dachshund and a 160 lb Mastiff who thinks she is a chihuahua. Doc’s hobbies are wood working, especially wood turning, and trying to catch the fish in his pond.
